Nothing has changed, women still being harassed: Subhashree

Popular Bengali actress Mouni Roy was recently subjected to public physical harassment while performing a stage show in Haryana’s Karnal.

Tollywood superstar Subhashree Gangopadhyay has now spoken out in protest against this incident.

Mouni was invited to an event at Karnal. When she went on stage, a group of people surrounded her, asking to take pictures.

Mouni alleged that two men, aged about grandfather’s age, and their male family members in the crowd put their hands on the waist of the actress and touched her indecently.

Mouni took to social media to vent her anger after the incident. She wrote, “I am extremely disappointed.

While I was walking towards the stage, some aunts and their male relatives were taking pictures with their hands on my waist.

When I was forced to remove their hands, they did not take it lightly.”

Subhashree has come forward to praise Mouni’s bravery. Subhashree wrote on social media, “We celebrated the New Year a few days ago.

We are living in 2026. But nothing has changed. Women are still being harassed.”

“They are seen as commodities. What Mouni has had to go through is absolutely unacceptable. Mouni, you are so strong.

You have stood up for all women and spoken out against this injustice that has happened to you. Thank you so much, love,” Subhashree also said.
