10-Party alliance launches campaign in Panchagarh

Panchagarh Correspondent :

The 10-party alliance, begins its election campaign with the first public rally in Panchagarh. The alliance-nominated candidate, Sarjis Alam, is contesting the national election from Panchagarh-1 constituency under the Shapla Kali symbol.
The rally takes place on Friday at Chinikol Ground, chaired by Panchagarh district Ameer Iqbal Hossain. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, attends as the chief guest. Leaders of the 10-party alliance are also present. The venue is packed, and large crowds of party workers fill the streets.
In his speech, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman says:”North Bengal is a vital part of our heart. This region supplies food and nutrition to the entire country. Yet it has been deliberately neglected. I have come to witness this injustice. We do not want to see unemployment in North Bengal. From Teknaf to Tetulia, I have been travelling across the country, and often allocations run out before reaching Panchagarh. How can Panchagarh develop under such circumstances? This promising district has fallen behind. People have to travel to Rangpur or Dhaka for treatment of critical patients, and some even die on the way. Insha’Allah, if we form the government, we will establish at least one medical college in every district.
Citizens need not worry about money. The Hasina government and her accomplices have embezzled 2,800 billion taka and sent it abroad. We will retrieve all that money and use it for national development. Corruption will have no place in our country. We will never forget the debt owed to those who participated in the July movement and ousted the fascist Awami League government. We will repay that debt. If we form the government, we will tackle unemployment by creating jobs, not just providing allowances.”
At the end of the event, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman hands the Shapla Kali symbol to Sarjis Alam, the candidate for Panchagarh-1, and to Shafiullah Shafi, the Jamaat candidate for Panchagarh-2.
