Seeing the World Cup trophy is a dream for any footballer. Bangladesh National Football team Captain Jamal Bhuyan saw the trophy up close on Wednesday after the trophy landed at the airport. The World Cup trophy is touring the world before the 2026 World Cup. The trophy arrived in Dhaka yesterday as part of that.

Brazilian World Cup-winning footballer Gilberto da Silva arrived in Dhaka with the World Cup trophy. Jamal was quite impressed to receive the World Cup champion footballer and the trophy together, “The experience was great, to be honest. Gilberto came with the World Cup trophy. So this is my first time watching the World Cup trophy. I feel very good.”

Despite being the Captain of the Bangladesh National Football team, Jamal did not hide his curiosity about the World Cup trophy.

He said about its height and weight in front of the media at the airport, “I think the trophy will be a little small, but it is actually very big.

And I am asking, what is the weight? So almost 7 kg of pure gold. So the experience was very good.” Jamal said, considering this trophy as an inspiration for the new generation, “Since the trophy is coming to Bangladesh, let it be an inspiration to all the footballers who can work hard, practice… whoever wants to be a footballer. But this trophy, I think more motivation will come.”
