EU envoy meets Tarique

European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller paid a courtesy call on BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Tuesday evening.

The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office at around 6:30pm, BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan confirmed.

Ambassador Miller led an EU delegation that included Payola Pamploni, Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific; Monica Bajlaité, Deputy Head for South Asia, Asia and the Pacific; and Legal Adviser Rastislav Spak.
Representing the BNP were Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Ismail Jabullah, Joint Secretary General Humayun Kabir, and Acting Chairman’s Adviser Mahdi Amin.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Nazrul Islam Khan said the BNP would take an active part in the upcoming elections. He added that Tarique Rahman sought continued cooperation from the European Union for Bangladesh’s development in the post-election period.
