JU’s doa mahfil for Khaleda Zia

A doa mahfil was held on Friday at Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall in Jahangirnagar University (JU) seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, the country’s first woman Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The doa mahfil was organised by the hall administration around 2:00 pm following the Jumma prayers at the hall mosque, says press release.

Prayers were also offered seeking patience and strength for the bereaved family members.
Pesh Imam of the hall mosque Md Abu Sayed conducted the doa mahfil, while Hall Provost Professor Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman, Warden Dr Mohammad Majibur Rahman, teachers, students, officers and employees participated in the event, among others.

Begum Khaleda Zia, a three-time elected former prime minister, breathed her last on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital at the age of 80.
