EU Ambassador hails July Charter signing

European Union Ambassador Miller has lauded the signing of the July, calling it a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s political transition.
He in a Facebook post on Friday described the charter as a document that establishes broad political consensus on fundamental reforms, emphasising its importance in the country’s ongoing political transition.
“Today, I was delighted to join the signing ceremony of the July Charter, a document which sets out broad political consensus on fundamental reforms,” he said.
The ambassador highlighted that the signing demonstrates a unity of purpose among political stakeholders as Bangladesh prepares for national elections scheduled for early 2026.
He underlined that the charter reflects a commitment to democratic principles and reforms that could shape the political landscape in the coming months.
“This was an important moment in the country’s political transition, demonstrating unity of purpose as Bangladesh moves towards elections in early 2026,” he added.
Ambassador Miller’s comments come amid a period of heightened political activity in the country, with the July Charter seen as a crucial framework for dialogue and cooperation among key political parties.
