Nesarabad the address of homeless people in Sylhet

Sylhet Bureau :
Although there are shelters for homeless people lying on the streets in different parts of the country, it is not only in expatriate-dominated Sylhet. Homeless men and women are constantly seen on the streets of Sylhet. Sometimes clothed, sometimes naked or half-naked. These people are dying of illness after rotting on the streets. Now, housing arrangements are being made for these homeless people. A housing facility will be built for them at Nesarabad Housing in Nayabazar Sylhet Airport area.
The Facebook-based page working with homeless people in Sylhet, its organization Jiban Foundation, has taken this initiative. For a long time, this volunteer team has been providing various services including haircuts, bathing, clothing, and medical treatment to the homeless in different parts of the country including Sylhet. However, this time, along with those services, they are on the way to implementing housing arrangements for the homeless.
Yesterday afternoon, a signboard was installed at Nesarabad Housing in Nayabazar, Airport area. The signboard reads Shelter for homeless people, the designated location of the Sylhet project. Originally, the London expatriate Golam Mortuza Chowdhury Iqbal couple from Birshri Union in Zakiganj donated ten decimal places in this housing. Originally, the couple bought it to build a house for themselves. But since there is no shelter for homeless people in Sylhet, they set a new example of humanity by donating this place to build a shelter.
Among the members of the Jibon Foundation present at the time of installing the signboard yesterday were Juned Ahmed Chowdhury, Shahiduzzaman Swapan, Mazharul Islam Joynal, Shakil Zaman, Ahmed Ferdous Saker, Redoanur Rahman, Shahid Khan, Shahiduzzaman Suzan, Atiqur Rahman and Minshad Alam Chowdhury.
It is worth noting that the construction of houses at this place will begin in January 2026. However, the members of the organization said that they do not have any money in their fund. But a lot of money is needed. They want to start work by relying on Sylhet and expatriates.
