SAFF U-17 Women's Champ: Bangladesh take on Nepal today

Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team will take on Nepal Under-17 Women’s Football team in their fourth match of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-17 Women’s Championship at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan today. The match will kick-off at 3.00pm.

Assistant Coach of Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team Abul Hossain said, ” Our girls could not show satisfactory performance in the first leg. Our target is to win all the matches of second leg to clinch the title. Pray for us.”

The other Assistant Coach of Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team Mahmuda Akter said, ” Our girls tried their level best to perform well in the first leg. They will win match by match.

There is an injury problem. They recovered from injury. There were some mistakes in the previous matches. They will come out from their mistakes and will perform well in the next second lag matches.”

India bagged maximum nine points from three matches. Bangladesh are breathing on India’s neck collecting six points from as many matches.

Bangladesh made an auspicious start after defeating Bhutan 3-1 in their first match on August 20.

Bangladesh lost to India 2-0 in their second match on August 22.
Bangladesh returned to the winning streak after crushing Nepal 3-0 in their third match on August 24.

Though there are seven countries in South Asian Region, but Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives did not take part in this edition of the SAFF Under-17 Women’s Championship. So only four teams are taking part in this year’s competition. The authority of SAFF has arranged this meet on double league basis.

Meanwhile, India defeated Nepal 7-0 in their first match on August 20.
India blanked Bhutan 8-0 in their third match on August 24.
