StanChart launches Bangla QR payment feature

Standard Chartered Bangladesh has unveiled a new milestone in its digital banking journey with the integration of the Bangla QR feature into its SC Mobile App, aligning with Bangladesh Bank’s vision of a unified and interoperable payment ecosystem’s commitment to advancing a cashless society and supporting the nation’s digital transformation.
The feature was unveiled at a launch event attended by senior leaders, including P.D. Singh, CEO, India & South Asia; Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO, Bangladesh; Khaled Aziz, Chief Technology and Operations Officer, Bangladesh; and Faisal Haque, Head of Priority and Wealth Management.
Bangla QR, an initiative of Bangladesh Bank, aims to establish a unified and interoperable payment ecosystem. Standard Chartered Bangladesh is fully integrated with the National Payment Switch of Bangladesh (NPSB) and now also with Bangla QR, facilitating seamless digital payments nationwide. Customers can make contactless payments at markets, shops, and restaurants by simply scanning a merchant’s QR code using the SC Mobile App, available on both Android and iOS, says a press release.
