Reception held for new senior district judge

The Nilphamari District Bar Association accorded a reception to Mr Zia Uddin Mahmud following his appointment as the Senior District and Sessions Judge of the Nilphamari Judgeship.

The reception and views exchange meeting was held at the Bar Association hallroom on Wednesday.

Among those present were former Bar Association President and senior lawyer Advocate Md Abdul Wahab Chowdhury, Nilphamari District Council Administrator Advocate Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Bar Association President Advocate Al Faruq Abdul Latif, Government Pleader (GP) Abu Mohammed Soem, General Secretary Advocate Al Masud Chowdhury and other members of the Bar Association.

Speakers welcomed Mr Mahmud to his new assignment and expressed hope that he would play an effective role in ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law.

The programme concluded with a cordial exchange of views and a formal reception in his honour.
