Arijit Singh returns to playback with ‘Awarapan 2’

Arijit Singh has returned to playback singing, months after he announced his retirement from the profession.

He is set to reunite with filmmaker-producer Vishesh Bhatt for ‘Yeh Awarapan’, the first song from the upcoming film ‘Awarapan 2’. The track, composed by Amaal Malik with lyrics by Rashmi Virag, was released on July 21 across all major streaming platforms.

The song marked Arijit’s first recording since he stepped away in January. Vishesh Bhatt has positioned ‘Yeh Awarapan’ as emotional centrepiece of the sequel, with the song reflecting
inner world of the film’s protagonist, Shivam Pandit.
