British EMT joins efforts to treat jet crash survivors

Staff Reporter  :

A specialised Emergency Medical Team (EMT) from the United Kingdom has arrived in Bangladesh to provide advanced medical care to those injured in the tragic aircraft crash at Milestone School on 21 July.

The nine-member team consists of highly experienced clinical professionals, including infectious disease specialists, intensive care doctors, infection prevention and control nurses, and rehabilitation experts, according to the British High Commission in Dhaka.

Over the next three weeks, the UK EMT will collaborate with local medical staff to deliver critical care and rehabilitation services to injured students currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, reports UNB.

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, emphasising the UK’s commitment to supporting those affected by the tragedy.

“I am confident that the specialised care provided by the UK medical team will help accelerate the recovery and rehabilitation of the injured students,” she said on Saturday.
