Eastern Bank profit surges 11pc in Q2

Eastern Bank has posted an 11 per cent year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of this year.

According to a statement published on the bank’s website on Monday, the consolidated earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk1.23 in the April-June quarter, up from Tk1.11 in the same period last year.

For the first half of the year, the bank’s consolidated EPS stood at Tk2.20, marking a 9% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
