Tree fair opened in Kishoreganj

A week-long tree plantation drive and tree fair were inaugurated in Kishoreganj under the theme ‘Beautify the country with tree plantation, Bangladesh first’.

Kishoreganj -1 constituency MP Mazharul Islam formally inaugurated the tree plantation drive and tree fair as the chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shohana Nasrin in the chair.

A discussion meeting was held at local Collectorate Conference room on Thursday.

It was addressed among others by, Kishoreganj Municipality Administrator, also Deputy Secretary of Local Government Jebunnaher Shammi, Divisional Forest Officer Kazi Nurul Karim, ADC(General) Istique Imon, Sadar UNO Kamrul Hasan Maruf and Forest Officer Sadekul Islam Khan.

Mazharul Islam MP said that there is no alternative to tree plantation to prevent global warming.
Martyred President Ziaur Rahman implemented the tree plantation programme.

In continuation of that, former Prime Minister and national leader Begum Khaleda Zia has maintained this programme.

The incumbent Prime Minister has made her election manifesto with tree plantation as a priority. In continuation of this, tree plantation is going on all over the country. He commented that if we want to save our new generation, we have to continue tree plantation.

Earlier, a colorful rally started from Kishoreganj old Stadium , an important place in the town.
Officials and employees of the district and Sadar Upazila administration, political, social, cultural leaders, and students were present at the event.
