‘No criminal should go unpunished’

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali said, “Criminals must be strictly suppressed so that no one gets a break. We must perform our duties with utmost sincerity and professionalism to maintain law and order in the metropolis preventing crime.”
The DMP Commissioner made these remarks while presiding over the monthly crime review meeting for June 2025, held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh.
Addressing senior DMP officers, he stressed that each unit head must manage their units efficiently and effectively.
All officers must perform their professional duties with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication, he said.
The Commissioner further directed the force to strengthen regular patrols, increase surveillance in crime-prone areas, operate checkpoints, make progress in case investigation, and increase the rate of case settlement. We need to be more proactive in recovering stolen vehicles, recovering drugs, and serving warrants.”
Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Faruk Ahmed said at the meeting, “We need to plan and work in the areas of warrants and case investigation. We need to ensure people-friendly policing by cooperating with the local community.”
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam said, “Senior officers will have to increase their supervision in investigating and resolving cases.”
He also thanked everyone for sincerely performing their duties despite many challenges during Eid-ul-Azha.
