249th American Independence Day: Yunus hails US ties in letter to Trump

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has conveyed his warm greetings to US President Donald Trump and the people of the United States on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.
In a formal letter addressed to President Trump, the Chief Adviser extended heartfelt congratulations on the 249th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, reaffirming the longstanding friendship and shared democratic values between Bangladesh and the United States.
“I would like to congratulate you and the friendly people of your great nation on the auspicious occasion of the 249th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America,” the letter read.
He highlighted the deep-rooted partnership between the two nations, built upon mutual aspirations to uphold democracy and the values of freedom. “Bangladesh and the United States are long-standing partners.
Our peoples share common aspirations to promote democratic principles and freedom. Over the past five decades, our bilateral relations have expanded significantly, encompassing areas such as trade, investment, development cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges,” the message continued.
The Chief Adviser also expressed Bangladesh’s strong commitment to further strengthening collaboration across a wide range of sectors.
“We remain dedicated to enhancing cooperation in areas including trade and investment, energy, agriculture, science and technology, education and research, climate change, and peace and security.
I am confident that the enduring partnership between our two nations will continue to grow in the years ahead.”
In conclusion, Professor Yunus conveyed his best wishes to President Trump and the American people: “I wish you and your family continued good health and happiness, and the people of your great country lasting peace and prosperity. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
