BNP leader among six held over assault on govt official in Rajbari

Six individuals, including the president of Pangsa Upazila BNP, were detained by the army on Thursday night for allegedly assaulting Kazi Rakibul Hasan, Assistant Director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection in Rajbari.
The incident took place at the district Consumer Rights office, where the accused reportedly entered and physically assaulted the government official. They were later handed over to Rajbari Sadar Police Station.
Those detained include Chand Ali, president of Pangsa Upazila BNP; Md Ruhul Amin of Narayanpur; Md Bacchu Biswas of Shekpara; Mamun Shikder of Bhabanipur; Md Farid Hossain, and Md Shishir Karim, son of Rezaul Karim Pintoo.
Rajbari Sadar Police Station OC Md Mahmudur Rahman confirmed that a written complaint has been filed. “The matter is being taken seriously, and legal procedures are in progress,” he said.
Repeated attempts to reach the victim, Kazi Rakibul Hasan, for comment were unsuccessful.
