Dhaka condemns attack on Iran

Staff Reporter :

Expressing deep concerns over attacks on Iran, Bangladesh has called upon the United Nations and the international community to engage proactively in efforts to de-escalate the situation and promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

“Bangladesh reiterates its longstanding position in favour of peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh said in a statement on Sunday.

“Bangladesh urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from any actions that could escalate tensions in the region,” the statement said.

Condemning the attack, the foreign ministry stated that the recent attacks targeting nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran risk further destabilising an already fragile regional situation and heighten the threat to international peace and security.”

“Bangladesh firmly believes that constructive engagement, mutual respect, and adherence to international norms remain the only sustainable path to enduring peace,” it added.
