Ex-MP Afzal Hossain arrested

Awami League (AL) leader, Former MP of Kishoreganj-5 (Bajitpur-Kuliarchar) constituency, Md. Afzal Hossain has been arrested in another case filed at Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station.
He was produced before the Kishoreganj Chief Judicial Magistrate’s (CJM’s) Court from prison under tight police security on Thursday morning.
Court Inspector (CI) of Kishoreganj Court, Shamsul Alam Siddiqui and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kishoreganj model Police Station , Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter.
Kishoreganj, Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Ilias Miah is investigating the case filed on charges of attacking and killing a procession during the anti-discrimination student movement. He requested the court to show ex- MP Afzal Hossain under arrest. On the other hand, his lawyers applied for bail.
After the hearing, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate No. 3 Mahmudul Hasan ordered the arrest of Afzal Hossain and sent him to prison.
