29 held on various charges in Kishoreganj

Police arrested at least 29 people on various charges during special drives by law enforcers across Kishoreganj in the last 24 hours.

Of the arrestees 15 are wanted accused, while the remaining 14 are accused in various regular and criminal cases.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the district police media cell on Thursday.
Police Super Mizanur Rahman said special operations have been underway at various police stations across the district since August 11 under the specific instructions and direct supervision of the Superintendent of Police (SP).

As part of the operations, raids were conducted at different times of the day and night over the last 24 hours, resulting in the arrest of wanted accused and suspects in various cases.

The highest number of arrests, four, was made in the Kishoreganj Sadar police station area. In addition, three accused were arrested from each of Karimganj, Tarail, Hossainpur, Katiadi, Bhairab and Nikli police station areas.

Raids were also conducted in Bajitpur, Kuliarchar, Pakundia, Mithamoin and Itna police station areas, where several accused were arrested. However, no arrests were reported from Ashtagram police station area during the last 24 hours.

Police Super Mizanur Rahman said operations against drugs, terrorism, extortion, violence and other crimes would be further intensified.”Regular operations are being conducted to arrest wanted accused and bring criminals to justice,” he said.
