Khaleda on complete rest

Staff Reporter :

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is on complete rest as per her physician’s advice following her return from London after undergoing four months of treatment.
“Doctors are monitoring Madam’s health on a regular basis. She is doing well,” BNP Media Cell Member Sayrul Kabir Khan told journalists.

“Given the long journey and her overall health, the Medical Board has recommended full rest, which she is currently following,” he said.

It has been reported that doctors are visiting Begum Khaleda Zia at her residence on a scheduled basis to assess her condition.

She is receiving treatment in line with the recommendations provided by doctors at The London Clinic. The Medical Board is maintaining continuous observation of her condition.

“In the past two days, no one except close relatives and family members have seen her. She is spending her time peacefully with them,” said Khan. Sources also confirmed that Khaleda Zia is in good spirits. Her London doctors have advised light walking to avoid prolonged sitting. Board members are ensuring proper follow-up at home. Her personal physician, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, is coordinating her treatment. As per medical advice, she is being served home-cooked meals.

Earlier on May 6, the former Prime Minister returned to Dhaka after receiving medical care in the UK for four months. Upon arrival, she went straight to her residence, Feroza, in Gulshan. She was accompanied by her two daughters-in-law, Dr. Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman.
