Attempts to make the army controversial must be resisted

THE army is a symbol of a country’s sovereignty.

From repelling attacks by external enemies to protecting the country’s sovereignty, army members risk their lives in any effort.

In any internal emergency situation, the army plays the first role as an organized force. Therefore, to destabilize a country, the enemy tries to weaken the army of that country.

We must remember that if the army is weak, the country’s independence and sovereignty will be endangered.

There have been many recent reports in various media outlets about attempts to spread confusion and create controversy about the army. Many people have criticized the malicious attempts.

After the fascist Awami League government was overthrown through a mass uprising, an interim government was formed under the leadership of Professor Muhammad Yunus on August 8, 2024.

Naturally, everyone hoped that the political and social unrest that was going on in the country would end, the economy and public life will return to normal. But reality does not say that.

We want to be together and take the nation forward. It is sad that even the Army Chief’s request did not stop the attempts of those who destroy unity.

Some expatriate Bangladeshi online activists have also allegedly been continuing to slander and spread misinformation about the Army Chief for quite some time.

Very recently a top leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP) surprisingly created a huge discussion in his Facebook post by talking about ‘cantonment pressure’. However, many in his party could not support his statement.

Meanwhile, the cohorts left behind by the fascist Hasina are adeptly trying to change the situation. They are trying to destabilize the country in various ways. They are trying to create an unstable situation and make the people face the army.

Experts say that aggressive rhetoric against the army chief and the army can create divisions in the country and strategically weaken the state itself. As a result, the country is now going through a difficult and complex time.

The aggressive statements and anger of any party against the army and the army chief, the symbol of sovereignty, are a very sad and unwanted incident.

We want such attempts to end quickly in the interest of the country. The army must be kept above all kinds of controversies.
