July uprising injured protesters block Shishu Mela intersection

NN Online:
A group of injured protestors from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement blocked the Shishu Mela intersection in Shyamoli at around 11:30am on Sunday, demanding rehabilitation, and improved medical treatment.
The demonstrators—including patients from the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) and the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital (NIOH)—converged in front of Pangu Hospital to voice their demands which halted the traffic on both sides of the road, leading to significant disruptions and inconvenience for commuters.
DMP Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Traffic Zone Assistant Commissioner Uday Kumar Saha said, “We are redirecting small vehicles from Agargaon to Shyamoli and the Shishu Mela area via 60 Feet Road, while larger vehicles are being routed past the passport office. With the main road in Mirpur now closed due to the protest at Shishu Mela intersection, incoming traffic is facing significant challenges.”
The injured protestors of the July Movement extended their protest into Sunday night, seeking official recognition and comprehensive rehabilitation.
One of the demonstrators expressed their frustration, saying, “Why must we continue fighting for our rights after an anti-dictatorship movement? We stood up for this country and its people, yet we remain unrecognised. The state has failed to acknowledge our sacrifices, leaving us without the recognition, rehabilitation, or financial support we deserve.”
