Mackay Test day 1 tickets sold out after Bangladesh’s ‘push’

The second and final Test match of the two-match series between Bangladesh and Australia will be played in Mackay, Queensland. There has been a lot of excitement among the local audience around this match.

The historic clash will be held at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, which is making its debut as a Test match venue for the first time.

The second Test will be held from August 22 to August 26. It may be mentioned that Bangladesh registered a massive nine-wicket victory over stronger Australia in the first Test at Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin on August 16. The first Test match came to an end in four days.

Although there are still four days ahead for the match to start, all tickets for the day 1 of the second Test have already been sold out.

Cricket Australia (CA) said that all tickets, including general tickets and corporate packages for the first day of Saturday, have already been sold out.

Even tickets for the second day are almost sold out.
Mackay is going to be the 12th city in Australia to host a men’s international Test match.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg expressed his excitement about such a public outcry about cricket in Northern Australia.

He said, “We are very pleased to see the strong enthusiasm of the people for the Northern Australia Test series.

“It’s a great achievement that all the tickets for the first day of the Mackay Test were sold out before the first ball was bowled.”
