Tanzid Hasan hits maiden Test century

Tanzid Hasan of Bangladesh created history hitting his first Test century against Australia on Australian soil. He scored his maiden century at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin of Australia on Friday. Tanzid Hasan notched up 101 runs off 197 balls.

He hit eight fours and a sixer in his 308-minute marathon innings. Bangladesh piled up a mammoth total of 351 for the loss of six wickets at the end of the second day play.

Earlier, Australia were bundled out for 198 in the first innings on the first day (Thursday).

At the beginning of the second day, the main challenge for Bangladesh was to get through the first session with the new ball. Australia’s bowling attack also tried to create pressure from the

beginning. However, Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto managed to handle that pressure and moved forward. Tanzid successfully implemented his plan by scoring a century in the end.

Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto put on together 93 runs for the third wicket partnership. Shanto also shone with the willow. He hit 84 runs. His 126-ball innings was laced with seven fours and a sixer.
