Golapganj bean farmers anxious over fair price

Like every year, the bean yield in Golapganj, Sylhet has been good this year too. But due to the increase in the price of agricultural products and middlemen, the farmers of the upazila are being deprived of fair price. As a result, many are losing interest in cultivating the famous Goalgadda bean.
While visiting the area, it has been seen that in the Dakshin Palpara area of Lakshipasha Union of the upazila, a special variety of beans ‘Goalgadda’ are swaying in huge beautiful awnings. In the fields, in the courtyards of houses, and by the ponds, there are only beans and beans. Not only farmers, but also passers-by are delighted to see this scene. Farmers are spending tireless time selling these matured beans.
