Rangpur workshop for policy makers to expand zinc rice cultivation

A “workshop for policy makers from various departments of the district to expand biofortified zinc rice cultivation” was held in Rangpur.
The workshop was held yesterday in the conference room of the Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Rangpur.
In the meeting, RDR S Bangladesh’s Rangpur Team Leader Dr. A. K. M. Salah Uddin, Rangpur’s Deputy Director (Farm) Md. RiazUddin spoke as the chief guest, and Civil Surgeon Dr. MostafaZamanChowdhury, District Training Officer Md. EnamulHaque,
Deputy Director (Seed Marketing) Md. Masud Sultan were present as special guests. The speakers were HarvestPlus Bangladesh Country Coordinator Md. Wahidul Amin, Project Manager-HarvestPlus Bangladesh Md. ShahinurKabir and Business Consultant Saleh Md. ShihabUddin and RDRS Bangladesh Technical Officer Krishibid Md. Rashidul Islam.
The day-long workshop discussed how to increase the cultivation of nutrient-rich zinc rice and increase the supply of zinc rice at the consumer level. All the participants expressed their important opinions and thanked HarvestPlus for such activities.
They were very happy to receive many important guidelines about zinc rice and expressed their opinion that they would cooperate in increasing the cultivation of zinc rice.
