Nazmul Haque Ranjan, assistant observer of Ishwardi Meteorological Office, said that the minimum temperature recorded on Thursday (January 9) was 9.8 degrees Celsius. Earlier last Wednesday the minimum temperature was 14.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature has dropped by about 5 degrees in 24 hours.
Since Wednesday afternoon, it has become difficult to go out of the house due to the frosty wind. In the face of severe winter in the cold wind, the floating people of Ishwardi Junction station are in a terrible condition. On Wednesday (January 8) night, floating and scattered people staying on the platform were seen spending a sleepless night due to the severity of winter.
Mannujan Bewa, a housewife of Bastipara area, said that after Wednesday evening, the Konkan cold in the frosty air was like a thorn in the body. The water is as cold as ice. Even after multiple blankets and covers at night, the bed feels like ice.
