Bangladesh U-19 team retain ACC U-19 Asia Cup title

Defending champions Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team retained the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Asia Cup title defeating India Under-19 Cricket team by 59 runs in the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a satisfactory 198 runs in 49.1 overs and then skittled out India for 139 off 35.2 overs.
Bangladesh had an unhappy start as opener Kalam Siddiki (1) was bowled out by Yudhajit Guha when Bangladesh’s score was 17.
Zawad Abrar, the other opener (20) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Harvansh Pangalia off Chetan Sharma when the Junior Tigers’ total was 41 for the loss of two wickets.
Azizul Hakim (16) was dismissed by Kiran Chormale when Bangladesh’s score was 66 for the loss of three wickets. Mohammad Shihab and Rizan Hossan built a worthy partnership.
They scored together 62 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Mohammad Shihab was dismissed by Ayush Mhatre when the Junior Tigers’ total was 128 for the loss of four wickets.
Mohammad Shihab hit a polished 40. His 67-ball innings was studded with three fours and a sixer.
Debasish Deba (1) was dismissed by KP Kartikeya when
Bangladesh’s score was 132 for the loss of five wickets.
Rizan Hossan was bowled out by Hardik Raj when the Junior Tigers’ total was 155 for the loss of six wickets.
Rizan Hossan notched up a marvelous 47. He hit three fours in his 65-ball knock.
Farid Hasan was the other batter, who shone with the willow. He hit a superb 39. his 49-ball innings was decorated with three fours. He was trapped leg before wicket by Chetan Sharma when Bangladesh’s score was 197 for the loss of nine wickets.
Yudhajit Guha, Hardik Raj and Chetan Sharma got two wickets each conceding 29, 41 and 48 runs respectively. Besides, Ayush Mhatre, Kiran Chormale and KP Karthikye took one wicket each giving nine, 19 and 37 runs respectively.
Later, Bangladesh bowlers totally dominated over the India batters with their tight, controlled and superb bowling attack.
Azizul Hakim and Iqbal Hossain grabbed three wickets each instead of eight and 24 runs respectively, while Al Fahad bagged two wickets at the cost of 34 runs. Iqbal Hossain was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Rizan Hossan and Maruf Mridha picked up one wicket each for 14 and 36 runs respectively.
Mohamed Amaan, Hardik Raj, Karthikeya, Andre Siddarth and Chetan Sharma could reach double digit figures making 26, 24, 21, 20 and 10 runs respectively.
