Dhaka condemns Israel strikes against Iran

Staff Reporter :

Bangladesh has strongly condemned the recent Israeli military strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran, viewing these actions as a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a breach of the United Nations Charter and international law.

Such actions risk destabilizing an already sensitive region, with serious implications for both regional and global peace and security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Sunday.

Bangladesh urges regional and global stakeholders to exercise restraint and prevent further escalation.

“We emphasize that upholding international norms, engaging in dialogue, and respecting sovereignty are essential to maintaining stability in the Middle East and beyond,” the ministry added.

Amid growing tensions, Bangladesh has also called on the international community to work collectively in support of stability in the Middle East, underscoring that diplomacy and mutual respect are the most viable paths to lasting peace.

In the wake of the strikes, numerous countries have condemned the actions, citing concerns over potential destabilization across the Middle East and neighboring regions.

Global leaders have urged both parties to show restraint and called on the United Nations to address the situation, noting that such strikes may contravene the UN Charter and international law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar condemned the attack, describing it as “a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a clear breach of international law.”

The ministry further encouraged all parties “to exercise restraint, resolve disputes through dialogue, and avoid actions that could undermine security and stability in the region.”
