How to be a good student!

There is always a question in the mind of students that is how to become a good student or what strategies can be used to become a good student. Different people have different opinions about this. Some say, ‘Study more’. Someone says, ‘Sit with a book all the time’. Someone says, “Get up early in the morning and sit down to read.” Some say, ‘Listen to the teachers carefully’. Some say, ‘I will finish reading every day’, etc., etc.
It is important to know the characteristics of a good student. A dream or strong desire works behind becoming a good student.
We will first look at why an average student dreams of being a ‘good or exceptional student’, then we will look at some of the ‘following traits’ of a good student. Which if followed properly can make even an ordinary student an ‘extraordinary student’.
Some of the noticeable characteristics of a good student
A good student has many characteristics. Among them, I am discussing some important and followable features, which can make an ordinary student into an extraordinary student-
An inquisitive mind
The first and foremost characteristic of a good student is to have an inquisitive mind. He always tries to learn from everyone. A good student means he is a good student. That is, a good student considers the whole world as a wonderful field of learning and tries to learn or know something new from it every day.
Goals in life
We all know that a journey without an aim only tires the traveler, but does not shorten the distance. So a good student sets his goals in life from childhood and always strives to achieve them. He sets his academic goals based on that goal. For example, if someone wants to become a scientist, he already reads science-related books and studies in science groups.
Focusing on specific topics
Another important characteristic of a good student is to focus or give full attention to a particular subject. When that works, focus on that work. When he reads, he focuses on reading. When in class, focus on the teacher’s teaching. That is, he does not focus on multiple tasks at the same time. It has full concentration on its specific task and can penetrate deep into knowledge.
The world of thought
A good student has a different world of thoughts. Where he thinks for himself and thinks out of the box. Give yourself time. This gives rise to many creative ideas. Many new enlightening theories or concepts emerge. As a result, his creativity flourished.
Politeness
A good student must be polite. Modest students are generous and calm. Can adapt to any environment and situation. As a result, he is considered as a vessel of affection for everyone.
Messy nature
Another important quality of a good student is to be organized. He completes his personal work and academic work according to importance in a planned manner. It can do the work on time. So he does not have to worry about work.
A good student keeps himself updated with various contemporary happenings of society, country, and world and enriches his knowledge by reading many informative books, newspapers, magazines, self-development, and motivational books apart from academic studies.
Participatory work
Tries to keep himself involved by participating in various types of participatory work such as the institution’s annual sports and cultural programs, co-curricular activities, social welfare work, and development work of the country. It develops leadership and communication skills.
Taking a Mentor
A mentor or Guru is the guide of a disciple. If we go through history, we see that behind the successful people, there is a great contribution of some person. For example, the famous philosopher Aristotle’s mentor or teacher was Plato and Plato’s mentor or teacher was Socrates. Similarly, most good students have a good teacher. One whose direction one always follows.
Presented differently
A good student tries to present himself differently. His thoughts, behavior, speech and actions are often not like others. Uniqueness or uniqueness can be noted in it.
Coordination of work and time
Watching movies all day or studying for 5 minutes and then resting for 50 minutes is not a good habit. The nutrients we consume and the energy we invest are precious. So they should be properly invested. To be a good student you must make the best use of your time. Movies and chats are necessary in student life. But, education comes first. So the work should be divided into small parts and coordinated with the time. That’s what good students do.
Learning to ask questions
The essence of learning is to be able to ask questions. In the classroom, the teacher must ask questions which is an integral part of being a good student. So if any question comes to mind or if there is a problem to understand somewhere, you must ask the teacher. This is one of the characteristics of a good student.
Use proper learning strategies
To be a good student one must follow proper and effective strategies for learning. Now the question is, what is the right strategy? These differ from person to person. Because what works for one person may not work for another. For example, some people prefer to read in the morning, while others find it easier to read at night. Therefore, a student has to find out which one will be best for him.
Extracurricular Activities
It is not necessary to study only the syllabus for the entire year. If we look at good students, we will see that they keep themselves busy with many things besides learning. Do various creative activities outside the syllabus. It contributes to their intellectual development. To be a good student, it is important to keep yourself busy with various creative activities. No other thoughts will get a place in my head.
Be a good listener
Good students are always good listeners. The teacher also gets frustrated if not listened to carefully. 80 percent of learning well in any subject depends on listening carefully.
Finally, reading these tips alone will not make you a good student. Rather effort is required to get results. However, it should be remembered that being a good student is not just about good results. Rather a man with a good personality.
