3 new members join Public Admin Reform Commission

The Public Administration Reform Commission has added three new members, raising the total number of commission members to 11 following a government reconstitution.

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification regarding this change on Thursday.

The commission is headed by Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, who also serves as the chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

It was established to create a pro-people, accountable, skilled, and neutral public administration.

The newly appointed members are Professor Dr. Syeda Shahina Sobhan (BCS Health, retired), Firoz Ahmed (BCS Audit and Accounts, retired), and Khondakar Mohammad Aminur Rahman (BCS Customs and Excise, retired).

The other members include former secretaries Dr. Mohammad Tarek and Dr. Mohammad Ayub Mia, senior secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, former additional secretary Dr. Md. Hafizur Rahman
Bhuiyan, former joint secretary Dr. Rizwan Khayer, the former chairman of Dhaka University’s Public Administration Department Prof. Aka Firowz Ahmad, and a student representative.

Sources indicate that the government aims to enlarge the commission to ensure the smooth implementation of reform initiatives.
