GM Chess kicks off

The 2nd International Grandmaster (GM) Chess Tournament orgainsed by Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy began on Monday at the Ho Chi Minh Sarani in Kolkata.
A total of 10 players from Bangladesh are participating in the event. They are GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, GM Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain of Bangladesh Navy, WIM Rani Hamid, FM Debaraj Chaterjee, FM Mohammed Abdul Malek and Shafiq Ahmed of Titas Club, CM Sohel Chowdhury of Leonine Chess, M Jamal Uddin of Pritam-Prism of Narayanganj and Dewan Shahidul Amin of Sonali Bank Sprots & Recreation Club.
Some 131 players from 11 countries including 27 Grandmasters, four Women Grandmasters, 24 International Masters and two Women International Masters are participating in the event.
