Police to start working soon

City Desk :

Md AbdullahilBaki, the new president of the Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA), today said that the police is an organization engaged in public service 24 hours a day. Police can never go on strike. They will quickly deal with the current situation and start their activities to serve the people.

He informed this in a press conference at the BPSA office in the capital’s Paltan on Wednesday (August 7) afternoon.
“The police are friends of the people. However, Hasina’s government and her party’s political fervor turned the police force into a baton force. People were tortured and wronged by the police. That time will not be allowed to come again,” said Abdullahhel Baki.

He also said that during Hasina’s government, many senior police officers worked as “agents of Awami League”. As a result, the orders of the higher officers of the police station were bound to act unethically. They announced the strike yesterday.

But the police can never go on strike. This is the first time in police history. We announce the new committee by abolishing the previous committee of the Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA). We will start our activities soon to serve the people.

In a written speech at the press conference, the president of the organization, Inspector Abdullahhel Baki, said that the Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA) is a very old organization. This organization plays a very important role in the overall welfare of the policemen.

You are all aware that many police installations have been damaged and many policemen have been injured and killed due to the anger of the oppressed people across the country since the overthrow of the dictatorship in the student uprising. Almost all of the policemen who have made the police force the adversary of the people as the subordinates of the Hasina government are now dead.

Mentioning that the lives of innocent policemen are in danger today, Abdullahhel Baki said, “At this time of crisis, we members of BPSA have observed the situation deeply and driven by conscience, several members staying in Dhaka attended an emergency meeting on August 6 at the association’s office.

“Despite many efforts of contact with the current executive committee members of the association, no trace of them could be found. Even trying to contact them on mobile, they could not be reached. In such a situation, it is easy to assume that they have gone into hiding to avoid public outrage as allies of the fallen autocracy,” he also said.

“Therefore, to convey the right message to the subordinate police members in this difficult time of the police, the previous executive committee has been dissolved and a new executive committee has been formed with 39 members with the consent of all the members present.”

Noting that in the newly formed executive committee, police inspector Md. Abdullahil Baki was elected president and police inspector Md. Daud Hossain was elected general secretary, the press briefing said that all activities of BPSA will be conducted under the “competent leadership of the present association”.
