Fire destroys multiple shops in Mirzapur

Three jewelery shops (gold shops) and other twelve business establishments including a showroom of Pran RFL were burnt to ashes in Kalibari Road of Upazila Sadar municipality in Mirzapur of Tangail. Businessmen are in dire straits due to the loss of businesses in the fire. Not a single commodity could be extracted from any business establishment. Damaged traders said that initially the amount of damage is around 8 crore rupees. Today Tuesday (July 16) the fire started in the early hours of the night. The fire was brought under control after four hours with the efforts of police, local residents and firemen from four units of the fire service.
According to eyewitnesses of the incident, the fire first broke out from a tea shop adjacent to Kacha Bazar on Kalibari Road around 4:00 AM on Tuesday morning. As the houses were made of tin, the fire quickly spread to the surrounding shops. On receiving the information, the fire brigade members of four units of Mirzapur Thana Police, Mirzapur, Delduar, Tangail and Kaliakair Upazila Fire Service worked to control the fire.
After about four hours of efforts, the fire was brought under control. The biggest loss was in the Pran RFL showroom. The owner of the showroom said that the amount of damage was about two crore rupees.
Meanwhile, businessmen and goods have been burnt due to the terrible fire. They said that they were running the business by taking loans from various NGOs, banks and moneylenders. Their dreams were shattered by the terrible fire.
