5-year-old twin sisters drown

A 5-year-old twin sister tragically died after drowning in a pond in Madaripur. The incident took place in Mollakandi village of Rajoir upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased Tabassum and Tahari are the daughters of Nasir Uddin of the village. Police and locals said that Tabassum and Tahari were playing by the pond near their house in the afternoon.

While playing, the two fell into the pond and drowned. The family members searched for the two sisters and rescued them and took them to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared them dead. The death of the twin sisters has cast a shadow of grief over the area.

After receiving the news, the police station inspected the scene. Sheikh Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajoir police station in Madaripur, said that the bodies of the two deceased sisters have been handed over to the family.

The incident is very sad.
