Khaleda can’t be spared: Inu

Branding Khaleda Zia as the non-recognizer of Bangabandhu and the historic March 7, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Saturday said if the BNP chairperson is spared that will be synonymous with signing the death warrant for democracy.
The minister came up with the remark at a meeting titled ‘The Nature of Non-violent and Non-cooperation Movement and Political Assessment of Current Militant Terrorism’ arranged by Muktijoddha Sangram Parishad marking
the March 7 at Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal central office in the capital.
Inu said, Bangladesh’s Liberation War was not a dispute between the Bangabandhu and the then President of Pakistan rather it was the war of a nation against exploiters.
“Similarly, the current state of affairs is not a dispute between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia, its a combat of Khaleda Zia against Bangladesh and democracy,” he said accusing Khaleda of collaborating with war criminals, Razakars and terrorists engaged in arson attacks.
The minister said Bangladesh, its history and democracy will be burned if the government concedes defeat to the politics of violence. Khaleda Zia should be ousted from politics if the country wants to get relief, he said.
Muktijoddha Sangram Parishad president Habibur Rahman Shawkat, JSD leaders Sharif Nurul Ambia, Shirin Akhter, MP and Nazmul Haque Prodhan MP, among others, attended the programme.
