Population, housing census report published

A report on population and housing census of Kishoreganj was published at a programme at local Collectorate conference room on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj , Md Abul Kalam Azad presided over the programme and unfolded the cover of the report.

Deputy Director (DD) of. Statistics Department, Md.Mohidul Islam disclosed the report of the census carried out on population and housing in 13 upazilas, 8 municipalities of district on June 15, 2022, under the supervision of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.

In the census report it revealed that population in Kishoreganj 3267626 , house 770818, , population raise 1.02%, literacy 67.60%, and 156 transgender.

The census showed that 95 percent people enjoyed electricity facility in the district. On the other hand literacy rate from 7 years old to upper age people in the district was 60 .70 percent compared to the national rate 74.80 percent.
