Ishwardi chairman candidate accused of violating code of conduct

Additional District Magistrate and Returning Officer of Ishwardi Upazila Parishad Elections Abdullah Al Mamun issued a show cause notice to the chairman candidate of Anaras Pratik Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar for violating the code of conduct in Ishwardi Upazila Parishad elections.
According to the show cause notice sent by Returning Officer Abdullah Al Mamun on May 14, Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar is contesting as an independent chairman candidate in Ishwardi in the 6th Upazila Parishad election to be held on May 29. On the morning of May 13, he was allotted the pineapple symbol.
Another rival chairman candidate in this election, Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, filed a charge sheet against Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar on May 14, alleging violation of the code of conduct. According to the complaint filed by him and online social media sources, showdowns and processions were held on May 13 in support of the pineapple symbol. Which is a flagrant violation of the Upazila Parishad (Election Conduct) Rules.
In the notice, Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar has been asked to appear in person within the next three days to respond to the show-cause letter, alleging violation of Sections 11 (2) and 13 (a) of the Election Rules, 2016.
Chairman candidate Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar said in this regard, I have received a letter from the returning officer showing the reasons. We will discuss this among ourselves and take necessary measures.
