Simplify justice delivery system

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday stressed further simplifying the country’s justice dispensation system so that the justice seekers could get justice easily.
“We’ll have to think about a newer way to make the justice delivery system easier … it’s needed to take effective steps to ensure the quick disposal of cases,” she said.
The Prime Minister said this in her introductory speech at her meeting with high officials of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat.
Hasina, however, asked the authorities concerned
to remain careful so that criminals cannot escape trial through the loopholes of laws. “You’ll have to look at it especially.”
She said necessary measures will be taken to dispose of cases quickly to ensure justice for country’s 16 crore people as the aim of her government is to establish justice through quick disposal of cases ignoring dilatoriness.
The present government has started formulating laws in Bangla and reaching the legal aid to the doorsteps of the distressed, suppressed and hapless people, she said.
Referring to the sufferings of poor and distressed people in having legal aid, Hasina mentioned that the government enacted ‘National Legal Aid Act’ in 2001 to provide legal aid to the justice-seeking poor and distressed people. “We’ll have to strengthen the system for the welfare of people,” she said.
