PWD land abandoned in Bhangura Bhangura

Abuot 22 bigha land of Public Works Department (PWD) in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna is lying abandoned for a long time. Long ago there was a brick kiln here. Some of its properties have gone out illegal possession due to lack of maintenance. The remaining land is arable. The current market value of this property is around Tk 75 crore due to the construction of municipal paved roads on the west and north sides of this property. But there is no caretaker here. Besides, the value of this land has increased manifold as it is adjacent to the Government Haji Jamal Uddin Degree College.
It can be seen on the surface, many people have built houses by occupying some land the public works property. A dairy farm is in the middle. On its western side, a man named Murad has set up a cow feed mill. The public works department has placed a sign board next to it. So that no one can take possession of this property. However, no effective initiative has been taken by the authorities to preserve it. At present it is completely unprotected.
Mehdi Hasan, assistant engineer of Public Works Pabna Division said, this property of Pabna has been selected under the 101 park construction project across the country. Land survey work has been completed recently.
Informing that measures will be taken soon to evict the illegal occupants, he also said that the public works department has already sent a proposal to the ministry to build a modern park on the 6.67 acre property of Bhangura.
