Cultivation of Zink rich crops underscored

Speakers underscored the need for production and consumption of Zinc rice in massive scale to eradicate the malnutrition problem of the people at a function on Saturday. “Zinc deficiency hinders physical and mental growth of children causes infertility, baldness, maternal problems, disease infestation, diarrhea and pneumonia and other complications”, they said.
They made the observation while addressing the meeting styled ‘Meeting with Policy Makers and Influential Stakeholders’ under the Expanding Nutrients in Food System Projects, IFPRI – HarvestPlus at the RDRS, Bangladesh conference room in the city.
RDRS Bangladesh arranged the meeting in cooperation with HarvestPlus with the financial support of Canada Government.
