EC unveils updated voter list of 12cr

The Election Commission (EC) released the updated voter list on Saturday, shedding light on the evolving electoral landscape of the country. According to the latest data, the total number of voters has surged to 12 crore, 18 lakh, 50 thousand, and 160.
Breaking down the numbers, the country now has 6 crore 21 lakh 44 thousand 587 male voters, 5 crore 97 lakh 4 thousand 641 female voters, and a notable inclusion of 932 voters identifying as the third gender.
The ECs announcement on Saturday marks a crucial step towards ensuring transparency and facilitating informed democratic processes.
Comparing this data with the figures from the previous year reveals a noteworthy 2.26 percent increase in the overall number of voters.
On the corresponding date last year, the voter count stood at 11 crore, 91 lakh, 51 thousand, and 440. This surge signifies a growing engagement and participation in the democratic process, reflecting the citizens, commitment to exercising their electoral rights.
