3rd biennial confce of Fisheries Society held at BAU

The Fisheries Society of Bangladesh organised its third biennial conference, with slogan of ‘Smart Aquaculture & Fisheries in achieving SDGs’ on Saturday at Seyed nazrul Islam conference hall of Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh.
The Secretary of Maritime Affairs Unit of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rear Admiral (Retd) Md. Khurshed Alam, BN was chief guest while vice Chancellor of BAU Prof Dr Emdadul Haque Chowdhury was chief patron. Former Vice Chancellor of BAU Prof Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Dean Faculty of Fisheries, Prof Dr. AKM Nowsad Alam, Executive Director of Krishi Gobeshona Foundation (KGF) Dr. Nathu Ram Sarker were present as special guests in the inaugural session on the conference.
Prof Dr. Md. Samsul Alam, President of Fisheries Society of Bangladesh was chaired and Prof Dr. Md Sadiqul Islam, Secretary Fisheries Society of Bangladesh was presented welcome speech in the conference.
Prof Dr. Harunur Rashid of Department of Fisheries Management was the keynote speaker and Md Shajahan Kabir Deputy Director of Department of Fisheries and Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman of senior scientific officer of BFRI were presented their institutional speech in the inaugural session. In the technical session on the conference a total of 142 speakers will present oral presentations in nine sessions and 65 posters will be displayed by the participants attending the conference.
The registered members of The Fisheries Society of Bangladesh who were the fisheries graduates of the government and non-governmental organizations, research institutes, universities and private sector representatives, researchers, teachers, students participated in the conference.
