Abul Kalam MP demanded to split Cumilla into two administrative districts

Lawmaker Abul Kalam Azad of Cumilla-4 constituency (Debidwar) demanded to split Cumilla district into two administrative districts, Cumilla (North) and Cumilla (South) to make citizen services more accessible.
He raised the demand during his speech of the twelfth session of the Jatiya Sangsad on Tuesday evening.
Abul Kalam Azad, Bangladesh is now a role model of development to the whole world. “Today, we have become a self-respecting nation under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the father of the nation who envisioned a golden Bangladesh,” he said.
He also said that his constituency is situated on one side of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway and on the other side Cumilla-Sylhet highway.
Debidwar Upazila Sadar is located on the connecting road of the two highways at a distance of 14.5 km from Chandina bus stand on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The Devidwar to Chandina main road is extremely busy and narrow, causing great difficulty in traffic.
Therefore, this younger lawmaker of Parliament demanded that the Devidwar-Chandina road should be appropriately improved and widened.
