Joty wants to play in the final

The Women’s Asia Cup is getting underway in the last week of this month. The Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team will also participate in the tournament to be held in the United Arab Emirates.

Before leaving the country, the cricketers and officials took part in a photo session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Monday.

After that, the Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team Nigar Sultana Joty spoke to the media.

The Tigresses’ Captain also expressed satisfaction with the preparations before taking part in the tournament. Joty said, “The preparation has been very good. Since all the games are under light there, we are playing two practice

matches here. In terms of preparation, I think it was very good.”
Bangladesh’s goal in this Asia Cup is the final. Joty regrets being eliminated from the semi-finals every time. She said, “Our main goal is to play the final.

Because we play the semi-finals, get eliminated, come back; this thing happens again and again. We want to break this barrier this time.”

‘We can’t cross the semi-finals anywhere. If we can cross the semi-finals, we can play the final. If we play the final, it will be a matter of winning the title. We are planning step by step.”

After the Asia Cup, there is the Asian Games. In this regard, Joty said, “If we talk about the Asian Games, our first goal is to go for a medal.

Because last time we got bronze, we got silver in 2010, then maybe we got bronze by going to the SA Games.

On behalf of our team, I will say that people have a lot of expectations. It is one thing for us to bring a medal and if it is gold, it will be even bigger.”
