Bhangura housewife commits suicide over family dispute

A housewife committed suicide due to a family dispute in Bhangura upazila of Pabna. Her name is Sumaiya Akhtar Sumi (23). She is the wife of a garment worker named Zakirul Islam. They have a three-year-old son. On Tuesday, the police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna morgue. The suicide incident took place in Bara Bishakol village of the upazila on Monday night.
Officer-in-charge of Bhangura police station, Md. Nazmul Haque, said that the body of the housewife was found hanging from the dab of the room on Tuesday morning after receiving the news. In the preliminary investigation, it is believed that he committed suicide by hanging himself.
Housewife’s maternal uncle Abu Taher said that a few days ago, due to a family dispute, the people of the father-in-law’s house beat Sumi and chased her away. Seeing no way out, Sumi went to her father’s house in Manikdah village in Ullapara upazila.
