BCL Secy declared persona non grata at JU

JU Correspondent :
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Jahangirnagar University unit General Secretary Habibur Rahman Liton has been declared persona-non-grata by his followers, accusing a bunch of allegations.

Around 200 aggrieved followers brought out a protest procession at around 2.15pm from the university’s transport yard and ended at the same place after parading different streets of the university.

The procession was led by JU BCL Joint Secretary – Lelin Mahbub and Arafat Islam Bijay, Organizing Secretary Chinmoy Sarkar, Vice-President – Jahiduzzaman Shakil, Faisal Khan Rocky and Finance Secretary Tauhidul Alam Taqid.

Later, Sajjad Hossain Shoaib, a Vice-President of the university unit Chhatra League, read out the written statement on behalf of the leaders-activists of the six male halls unit.

In a written statement, Shoaib said, “JU BCL general secretary Liton always shows indifference to the leaders and activists by showing excuses of busyness including lack of coordination in university politics, own hall-oriented politics, delay in providing hall committees, misbehavior with leaders and activists and ‘grabbing land’ near the university area.”

In response to the allegations, JU BCL General Secretary Habibur Rahman Liton said, “I am unaware about the matter. There is no evidence in favor of land grabbing. The allegations that they have made are totally baseless and lack proper evidence.”

Despite several attempts to contact BCL general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, but he did not receive the phone calls.
