BIWTC’s Executive Engineer found dead at Dhaka hotel

An Executive Engineer of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) found dead at a residential hotel in the capital’s Nayapaltan area on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Md Abbas Uddin, 55. He was the executive engineer of BIWTC’s Chattogram Sadarghat.

Monir Hossain Molla, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Paltan police station confirmed the matter to The New Nation saying that the victim hailed from Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla.

He came to Dhaka from Chattogram on January 13 for his office work and boarded in a Hotel in the Capital’s Nayapaltan. He was scheduled to leave the hotel on Tuesday noon.

Later, getting no response from phone calls, the hotel authorities informed the matter to police, OC added.
