Rifat Chowdhury trying to become regular in acting

The audience has been impressed by Rifat Chowdhury acted dramas and movies. When he tried to become the character he acted in the drama or the movie he acted in. He was hailed from Kishoreganj. But before the introduction of the actor, he is a poet. He spent some times in Kishoreganj. But a few days ago, he came back to Dhaka. He is trying to be regular in acting again.
In the meantime, he has acted in a seven-episode series for the upcoming Eid. It is directed by Maidul Rakib.
Rifat Chowdhury first acted in Nurul Alam Atique’s drama titled ‘Bijon Manush’. But his turning point in acting was the popular drama serial ‘Sixty Nine’ directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooki.
In the serial, he acted in his real name. He came into discussion at that time by the name ‘Rifat Kaka’. Since then everyone started calling him as ‘Rifat Kaka’.
However, he made his way into acting easier by acting on Farooki’s request in the series ‘Aynamohol’ directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooki.
At the beginning of acting in this drama serial, Farooki hugged him in the first shot as ‘OK’. Rifat Chowdhury has acted in many directors’ dramas and serials since then. He acted in the movie ‘Bachelor’ under Farooki’s direction. After that, he acted in the movie ‘Meherjaan’, which was made on the story of the liberation war, which was stopped to screen in theatres. He also started acting in a movie named ‘Captain Khan’. But then he got pain in his hand so he could not shoot it.
Currently he is busy with Reza Ghatak’s movie titled ‘Story of Dodo’ (‘Dodor Golpo’). Rifat Chowdhury told this correspondent, “I was away from acting for some time. I was in Katiyadi of Kishoreganj, my home village. Now I am trying to get busy in acting again. I am trying to work regularly. But it is true that in terms of bringing forward my acting career or what I have become as an actor today, it is because of Mostafa Sarwar Farooki. And my mind was strong. But writing draws me too. I want to do both acting and writing regularly. The rest is the audience’s love.”
Rifat Chowdhury was born in 1960. He is the son of Shamsuzzaman Chowdhury and Rabeya Khatun. His only daughter is Shilpi, who got married in Manikganj. Rifat Chowdhury’s first poetry book titled ‘Alingoner Nam’ was published in 1984. He has published 17 books. His book titled ‘Oneke Poreni’ was published last year. His new poetry book titled ‘Sabuj Patar Karkhana’ will be published in the coming Amar Ekushey Book Fair, said the actor.
